Resumo:
This paper seeks to problematize the social impacts resulting from the construction of
Engenheiro Ávidos Dam, in the municipality of Cajazeiras, pointed as the final solution
for the negative effects of drought. The construction of the dam triggered the
forced displacement of people who owned houses, land, livestock, sugar cane
of sugar and flour houses. People who, because they do not receive due compensation,
they embitter material and social impoverishment. It also analyzes the privileged with the
construction of the spring, using the existing purchasing power for an investment
in the marketing of products between workers and their families. The relevance of
The research focuses on the possibility of building the understanding of other aspects of
history of those who have been victims of progress, of government measures to
valorize the northeastern geographic space, without the necessary planning. Families
were financially decimated to make room for large springs. A whole
family structure has been fragmented. Unpaid, illiterate claims
did not know how to perform the bureaucratic procedure. The construction of the Engineer Dam
Avid has positive points, but likewise reveals its negative side. Both
historiographical versions must relate from the perspective of different interests,
disfiguring a single narrative so as to hear both sides in it
temporality.
