It is known that nursing has many functions within the hospital scope and they are directed towards the direct assistance to the patient, in front of that, it is known as a class very exposed to occupational risks, either by the handling of equipment or substances and bodily secretions. The present study aims to identify the occupational risks to which the nursing team of the Child and Adolescent Health Care Unit of the Júlio Bandeira University Hospital is exposed, as well as the causes of these risks and to correlate them with their generating sources. Biological Risk is prevalent among the others, characterized by the microorganisms. This is an exploratory qualitative approach and is based on data from the Environmental Risk Prevention Program (accessed from the Occupational Health and Safety of the HUJB, based theoretically on articles published in databases. to which the team is exposed during direct contact with the patient, handling of materials and inadequate disposal of sinks and washbasins for the correct hand hygiene, measures to reduce occupational hazards, such as the construction of Standard Operational Procedures, capacity building on the issue, adequacy of sinks and sinks, use of Personal Protective Equipment, etc. Understanding the complexity of the existence of these risks with the assistance of nursing, there is a need for improvements in the problems encountered, as well as the adhesion of professionals to the proposed measures.
