Resumo:
This monography is the result of sociological analyzes about the tales of Machado de Assis with a view to teaching Sociology in Secondary Education. A research based on studies related to interdisciplinarity and the educational functions of Sociology and Literature, based on the OCN’s and BNCC. In this sense, we sought to reflect on the benefit of Machado's work, with emphasis on the stories, and contribute to a new model of sociology of education, exercise of sociological thinking and pedagogically favor an interdisciplinary strategy of teaching sociology, observing how the author reproduces the aspects that constitute the Brazilian social structure of the late nineteenth century and how the categories identified are located in the classical and contemporary sociological discussions.
