Resumen:
This work is subject to Agricultural Geography, Organization of Space and Family Farming in the Community of Lowland Long of Olives, located in the rural municipality of Pombal-PB. The objective of the study is to analyze the family farming practiced in said community, with emphasis on production, marketing and challenges faced in such activity. The study was conducted through a field survey which used the qualitative and quantitative method in the study area. The data collection forms and photographic records were applied. The results showed that the Community is defined as the place of production to present favorable conditions for the practice and the development of family farming. Farmers who are in these conditions account for 80% of those aged 30-59 years old, 83% is heir to their land, the more vegetable produced within the Community is chili, with a percentage of 19%. The survey also showed that 50% of farmers are included in the government program PAA (Food Procurement Program).
