Abstract:
A great number of researches have been led to analyze the phenomenon of heat and
mass transfer during the drying process. Some authors consider the external conditions of
the air on the process, while others consider the internal conditions inside product with
emphasis on the mechanisms of moisture movement and your effects on the solid. Due the
your great importance many mathematical models have been proposed to describe the loss
of moisture during the drying of solids, however few works assumes the simultaneous heat
and mass transport, in a lumped approach. In order the objective of this work is develop a
mathematical models to be of the changes of energy and mass during the process, in bodies
with arbitrary geometry, based on a lumped analysis, including heat and mass generation.
All governing ordinary differential equation arc solved analytically and the solutions are
presently in the dimensionlcss form. Several results of the different dimcnsionlcss
parameters and your effects in the drying kinetics and heating of the solid arc show and
analyzed.
