Abstract:
The various changes over the past decades have led to changes on the world stage, especially in man-labor ratio, which affects working conditions and quality of life of workers. From this perspective, this study aimed to evaluate the nutritional status and the operators of lifestyle profile of a Production Unit Dining school area of a municipality Paraiba.This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative-descriptive approach conducted in the form of case study in March 2016 with 12 operators of a Production Unit of school meals. Nutritional assessment was performed and applied four semi-structured questionnaires addressing the socioeconomic profile, food consumption, individual lifestyle and occupational stress scale profile. After collection, the data were tabulated and evaluated using descriptive statistics with using Microsoft Excel 2010. The evaluation program by BMI showed 50% of respondents overweight. As for waist circumference, only women at risk for metabolic diseases. It was found that 66% of operators are female and poorly educated. The usual food intake is characterized by low intake of fruits and vegetables and regular consumption of processed and calorie foods. Regarding the profile of the individual lifestyle, there was a negative perception for the component Physical Activity, indicating sedentary group; but positive for the components nutrition, relationships, Preventive Behavior and Control of Stress, demonstrating a concern of the group with these aspects of quality of life With regard to occupational stress, this was classified as low in the group, even in stressful and monotonous working conditions. It was found in the study group, a concern for quality of life and the maintenance of work stress at acceptable levels, even with some practices considered inappropriate. There was no evidence of the existence of labor quality of life programs in the study site.
