Drug prescription is a legal document by which responsible prescriber and who dispense the drug, subject to the legislation of control and sanitary surveillance. To evaluate their quality indicators can be used, which are qualitative or quantitative measures to evaluate performance, detect problems and drive the solution. Additionally, they can be used in any aspect of the care chain: people, processes, equipment or health institutions, based upon this context, this study objective to analyze the medical prescriptions for patients who purchase medicines in basic pharmacy in the city of Cuité-PB. The sample consisted of prescriptions of residents the city, attended by physicians of the Program “Mais Médicos” (PMM) and Brazilian Physicians during the period 1 january to 30 june 2015. Of the 600 prescrptions analyzed, 390 (65%) physicians were Brazilian and 210 (35%) of the PMM. There was a signature difference (p<0,005) between the two groups in terms of completeness and readability, with the exeception of the item signature (p>0,005). 35% of prescriptions had no treatment time. The most commonly used abreviations have been CP (45%) followed by CM (35%) and other (20%). 65 medicines were not present in municipal realationship, of wich 48 (73,8%) were prescribed by bazilian phisicians and 17 (26,2%) by physicians of PMM. In 91 prescriptions at least one medicine was prescribed by the trade name and 81,6% (74/91) prescribed by Brazilian physicians and 18,7% (17/91) by physicians of PMM. It is concluded that it is necessary to establish the SUS measures of sensitization of the prescribers about the important of a clear, complete prescription and need to bring security during the use os the medicine and also more studies about the Program “Mais Médicos”.
