Résumé:
The geological eras are divisions of geologic time that correspond to the major events responsible for the origin and evolution of living beings on Earth, established on the basis of rock and fossil records. In this sense, the knowledge and dissemination of Palaeontology is of paramount importance for a more comprehensive understanding of biological, geological and environmental. In this context, the present study had as its main purpose is to promote the study of geological ages, associated with the Palaeontology teaching through educational activities, to facilitate the understanding and assimilating the subject addressed in the classroom, and to evaluate the acceptance of these practices by elementary school students II of Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio José Rolderick de Oliveira, located in Nova Floresta-PB. These activities were developed in four stages: (1) lecture; (2) video; (3) fossil exhibition and (4) construction of the geological time scale. For data collection was used a questionnaire with four questions to a total of thirty-six (36) of said school students. The data were analyzed using content analysis technique (AC), of Bardin (2009). After, observations, research and data analysis, we reached the conclusion that issues involving Palaeontology, as the geological ages of the Earth, awakens the interest and curiosity of students the fascinating universe that surrounds this science, given that the proposed activities had the acceptance of 100% of the participating students. It also appeared that the development of recreational methodologies can be an excellent alternative to mitigate or even solve the deficiency in Palaeontology teaching in basic education II, should therefore become a standard practice in schools, since it acts as facilitating the teaching-learning process.
