Abstract:
The Sociology teaching should aim to lead the student to reflect on the various aspects of society. Through pedagogical practices socialize concepts, themes and theories to understand the processes of social reality and athwart methodologies the teacher can lead the student to denaturalize the phenomena and the critical sense. This work approaches deals with the analysis of textbooks and teaching of Sociology, entitled “Secondary School Sociology Handbooks: Concepts, Themes and Theories". This study aims to analyze the contents and the approaches made in the textbooks of Sociology of High School, considering the curricular orientations designated in the regulatory frameworks of the Education for the Teaching of Sociology OCNs and BNCC. The study is based on Michael Young's theory, which Young refers to two types of knowledge, "the knowledge of the powerful" and "powerful knowledge," and in the research carried out by social scientists Simone Meucci and Flávio Sarandy, who talk about Sociology manuals. The methodology used in the research is a qualitative approach, analysis of textbooks and bibliographic review through theorists who study and approach the theme. The study investigated four textbooks adopted by the State School of Elementary and Middle Education Manoel Alves Campos – Congo/PB: Sociology- Introduction to the science of society, by Cristina Costa; Sociology for Secondary Education, by Nelson Dacio Tomazi; Modern Times - Times of Sociology, by Helena Bomeny, Bianca Freire-Medeiros, Raquel Balmant Emerique and Julia O'Donnell; Sociology - High School, by Silvia Maria de Araújo, Maria Aparecida Bridi and Benilde Lenzi Motim. From the analysis of the data it was possible to prove that the four manuals present in their contents, concepts, themes and theories. Also demonstrate that they are in agreement with the skills and abilities in force at BNCC.
