Resumen:
The teaching of science for decades has undergone many changes, but is currently based on the need to build knowledge by the students themselves, considering that the life context of the student began to be noted and taken into consideration. Despite many advances in the field, the problems of interpretation of the students of issues considered abstract are visible, as is the case of microbiology. This work presents a literature review in National Journal, in order to investigate the teaching-learning process in science and biology, specifically in microbiology branch of applied. Faced with this problem, it is suggested that teachers to use increasingly different alternatives that can assist in cognitive development and facilitate these students how to mediate the content. In teaching science and biology is essential the use of alternative methods for a possible facilitating the teaching-learning process, as well as to combine the contents seen in the classroom to the daily lives of students, aimed at learning that each individual is responsible for critical development and has a conscious role in society.
