Résumé:
The conditions present in the work environment in the institutions, both public and private, play an important role in the development of activities by workers and influence their quality of life. One of the aspects that can be affected by these factors is the health of workers, which is protected by international and national legislation, and public institutions, including federal universities, must take actions directed at the health care of their civil servants, as part of their management policies. Considering the importance of civil servants for the achievement of state objectives, it is relevant to investigate their understanding of the current situation of health care actions in the workplace. Thus, this study sought to analyze the perception of the technical-administrative civil servants of the Health Sciences Center of the Federal University of Paraiba regarding the effectiveness of the institution's health care policy. For the development of the work, a field study was carried out, with the support of bibliographical and documentary research. The study was characterized as exploratory and descriptive with a qualitative-quantitative approach and the data collection was performed through the application of a structured questionnaire with the technical-administrative civil servants of the center where the research was carried out, as well as by the form of an interview semistructured with one of the managers of the sector of the institution that deals with the implementation of health care actions for civil servants. With the results of the research, it was verified low levels of knowledge about the dispositions that govern the health policy of federal servants and about the health services offered, insufficient health actions and lack of participation in the process of management of occupational health in the institution. This framework revealed the existence of problems related to the implementation of actions directed at the health issues of civil servants, especially regarding the insufficient capacity of coverage of the health actions about the civil servants and the reduced space of participation of the civil servants in the planning and evaluation of the activities. Considering these factors, improvements were suggested, such as the broad mapping of the health conditions of the civil servants, the survey of the working conditions presented by the sectors and the formation of work groups to include the civil servants in the process of health care management, which can contribute to the promotion of a balanced work environment and the provision of quality services.
