MORAES, José Antonio de Macedo.
Resumen:
Initially this work presents in its first part a brief historical account of Pythagoras, a
figure that illustrates in a primitive way the advance of mathematics in ancient Greece.
It is mentioned in this study the great impact of the discovery of the irrational
numbers, represented by the square root of 2 and other discovered values. The second
part highlights the importance of ICTs in education. A discussion on the introduction
of ICTs was mainly based on mathematical education using software. With emphasis
on the application of ICTs, the third part proposes an activity that is used as a source
of understanding for the Pythagorean theorem. This is a simple proposal, but a great
help for understanding the concept. GeoGebra software is used to produce the proposed
activity. With the utility, the validity of the Pythagorean theorem is shown and
tested by moving the vertex of the triangle built in GeoGebra software.
