This paper presents an initial survey of the incidence of Zika virus in the city of Cuité in the state of Paraiba. The Zika virus is a Flavivirus (Flaviviridae family) transmitted by Aedes aegypti, which was originally isolated from a rhesus monkey female in Zika Forest (hence the virus name), Uganda, on 20 April 1947. It is an acute viral disease characterized by rash, intermittent fever, conjunctival hyperemia, arthralgia, myalgia and headache, it has a benign course and the symptoms usually disappear spontaneously after 3-7 days. The survey was conducted in four Basic Health Units Family urban area with six professionals saúde.O time to research the prospects of health professionals on the subject Zika virus, evidenced by the semi-structured questionnaire, that it has a practical design and contextualized on the subject Zika virus and an informal dialogue. After data analysis it was shown that the incidence of Zika virus is not a concern if the Cuité municipality in the state of Paraiba, most other epidemics, such as Dengue and Chikungunya the incidence is higher. It was shown that all health professionals are able to identify a case of Zika virus in Basic Health Units Family because all are trained to develop such a task with the population. The population must be consciousness to combat this transmission vector Aedes aegypti taking care of their homes.
