Abstract:
The youth and Adult Education (EJA) is a type of education that was created in order to eradicate illiteracy. The demand for this mode has greatly increased, especially for those people who failed to complete their studies within the age group. several programs were created to meet the needs of students, but of these, which is emerging now is the EJA. This study aimed to identify the main challenges experienced by teachers in adult education mode. The study was conducted in two (02) municipal elementary schools in the municipality of Cuité - PB: Tancredo de Almeida Neves and ELCA Carvalho da Fonseca. The quantitative and qualitative character of research is through questionnaires application clearly identify some difficulties in EJA, collecting responses from teachers who are the main observers of its students in the classroom. The results show that the learning difficulties of the EJA rooms are due to many factors including: the teachers who suffer from a lack of continuing education that encourages the use of specific methodologies for young people and adults; students who need incentives to progress in studies.
