Resumo:
This text is the result of a research carried out as a work of conclusion of the Degree in Rural Education, Exact and Natural Sciences. The research sought to understand how is the offer of Specialized Educational Care (ESA) in the city of Sumé-PB. For this, a documentary research and semi-structured interviews were conducted with the municipal education department. The discussion on Special Education was the theoretical basis for this research, supporting to understand how the policy of creating the multifunctional resource rooms, as well as the ESA, was configured as a banner of struggle for social justice, through the long trajectory of denial of rights to subjects who need differentiated technical and / or pedagogical support to ensure the right to access to formal, public, secular and socially referenced schooling. With the data we identified that there is a growing movement in the supply of ESA if we compare the years 2018 and 2019, as well as a significant presence of young children being diagnosed and attended. We also highlight that there is a project underway to create an itinerant ESA room that can serve the children of rural schools.
