The organization and effectiveness of wound treatment is directly related to the managerial characteristics of the nurse, however, nursing notes that describe the procedures, as well as the reliable evolution of the lesion and the quantitative of the materials used in the dressing are scarce. Thus, this research has as general objective to propose a plan of management organization in the care of patients with wounds in health units of Nova Floresta, Paraíba, Brazil. Materials and Methods: A quasi-experimental, pre-after study with a qualitative approach, developed with three nurses and a nursing technique from the Family Health Units of Nova Floresta, Paraíba, Brazil. The research was developed in five stages, with interviews before the training, elaboration of a management organization plan, training course, visits after the course and interviews after this training. The analysis of the data occurred through Bardin content analysis and the research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under CAAE nº 06419119.1.0000.5182. Opinion nº 3,176,115 Results: There is coherence in the participants' discourses regarding the meaning of health management. However, there was a shortage of skills and lack of specific instruments in the health units, for the registration of dressings and administration of material resources. Conclusions: It was identified the main management needs of the health units in relation to the treatment of wounds, and were contemplated, based on the production of mechanisms for recording procedures and controlling expenditures, in an objective and easy to use manner.
