Résumé:
The increasing production of solid waste is a reality that haunts our
can cause risks to the environmental balance and public health when
deposited in inappropriate places and without any sort of segregation. The present work
aims to identify the main environmental impacts resulting from the disposal of
solid waste in the municipal dump of São José de Piranhas-PB. THE
methodology is based on bibliographic survey, descriptive research, field visits,
and finally the identification and analysis of the impacts found in the area under study.
During the conception of the research were identified in the municipal dump of São José de
Piranhas-PB the following impacts: Landscape alteration, Vector proliferation
disease transmitters, Occupational accidents with waste from non-healthcare services
properly packaged, Gas and odor generation (Waste decomposition),
dust, particulate matter and noise (by stationary and mobile equipment),
Vegetation Cover Removal / Degradation (Disposal Area), Sky Waste Burning
open, generating soot and irritating gases. According to the results, it was found that the
most harmed elements were the soil, fauna, flora, landscape and the anthropic environment. The
Survey results show that measures by municipal managers should be
(Landfill, Recycling, Composting), techniques developed with the purpose of
provide efficient waste management, thereby minimizing damage
caused.
