Resumo:
Pregnancyis a natural condition of life, which brings with it a big amount of changes. Each
week of pregnancy arisesnew situations and experiences.By this way, the family and the
companion become a support and carepointto the pregnant in this phase. Thus, the importance
of education health as a strategy to promote self-knowledge and self-care are emphasized,
consequently making the pregnant a woman empowered. The objective of this study was to
carry out educational actions in order to the self-knowledge of the changes experienced by
women during pregnancy. This is a descriptive research having a qualitative approach of the
research-action type, carried out with 13 pregnantsthat livearound rural and urban areas of the
town calledSão José de Piranhas of Paraíba State. The research began after approval of the
project by the Research Ethics Committee under the Advice 2,904,835. To the data collection,
it was carried outan interview and pregnants’active searchon their residences. To organize the
data, the methodological process of the Discourse of Collective Subject was used.Following,
it was carried out two health education activities based on the themes found in the previous
stage, and finally, a second interview was conducted with the purpose of evaluating the
actions performed. Through the research it was noticed the need of expand educational health
actions to becomethe pregnant women aware of their body, health and care. In this research
was clarifiedthe importance of educational activities and qualified professionals to attend the
population mentionedin its entirety by a dialogic and humanized way.
