Abstract:
The present study aimed to identify practices developed by nurses in the care of people with
hemophilia. This is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed in
the public hemorrede of the State of Ceará. From a cut of the master's thesis project entitled:
Skills in health promotion in the practice of nurses with hemophiliac patients. The research
had a sample of 10 nurses who attend the clinics of coagulopathies and are responsible for
hemophiliac care. For data collection, a semi-structured interview was used, applied from
May to June 2017. To analyze the data, the thematic analysis was used. The nursing activities
aimed at people with hemophilia were centered on the care part, necessary to maintain the life
and health of the hemophiliacs; Although the professionals developed activities of orientation,
stimulation to self-care, focused on health education. It is observed the performance of nurses
in partnership with other institutions and professional categories as a way to minimize risks
and improve the quality of care and life of people with hemophilia. The nurses had their care
practices, which are necessary for the maintenance of life, but demonstrated skills and
competences when working health education as a way of developing autonomy and providing
a better quality of life for patients. Nursing has a unique role in the context of this
collaboration with multiple partners, sharing values focused especially on caring for people,
complementing and supporting the work of other health professionals.
