Abstract:
In Nursing, as a way to improve the working condition and with a desire to develop practical
quality, the nurse has sought to develop them through the Nursing Process (NP). So the EP is
a key tool in these intensive care units (ICU), so there is quality and effectiveness in assisting
users. Thus, this study on the PE, specifically in everyday work of the ICU nurse, proves to be
of great relevance for teaching, research and nursing care. The objective of this research was
to investigate the national scientific literature the Nursing Process in the daily nursing
practices in intensive care. It is an integrative literature review using the descriptors: "Nursing
Process" "Intensive Care Units". We selected 14 articles from Scielo and Lilacs databases. It
was possible to identify important features which were recurrent, which enabled the
construction of the following categories: nursing process within the Intensive Care Unit;
Computerization as a possibility for the application of the nursing process; The use of nursing
theory from the Nursing Process; Benefits of the Nursing Process for professional practice;
Difficulties in implementing the Nursing Process. It is observed that the evidence in the
literature, there is the importance of existing ICU application of PE, because through this
instrument the professional is able to provide a qualified and comprehensive care.
