Resumen:
The objective of this work is to analyze the behavior of a stretch on soft soils for the three projects landfills developed for this stretch. The stretch, named Landfill 2, of 120 meters length, with one end of a meeting of bridge, is located in the works of doubling BR 101, near the city of Goiana - PE. Made a study of the developed projects: the first project, partially executed, the solution embankment on vertical drains, the second project, partially executed, solution to lightweight landfill with the use of blocks of expanded polystyrene (EPS), and the third design, fully executed, the mixed solution of vertical drains and the landfill of blocks of expanded polystyrene (EPS). Field trials were conducted: surveys to measure percussion with SPT (Standard Penetration Test) and Vane Tests in soft soil layer for dimensioning the third project. To compose this dissertation, it was planned to conduct edometric tests and triaxial CU (Consolidated Undrained) tests in undisturbed soft soil to check the parameters of the third project, but due to low consistency of the samples, it was not possible to perform triaxial CU tests, only edometric tests. During the execution of the third project, we analyzed the results of geotechnical instrumentation deployed at the site, with 3 inclinometers, settlement plates 12 and 12 surface landmarks. Finally, a comparative study was made with respect to settlements measured by settlement plates, set designer and edometric tests. It was observed during the execution of the landfill, the instrumentation showed acceptable results that ensured the stability of the embankment and completion.
