Resumen:
The paper discusses some theoretical and conceptual considerations about the problem of
disposal and collection of rural solid waste. It aims to make a survey on the
participation of the public authorities regarding the collection of this waste, reporting the possible
impacts on the environment and human health as a consequence of the lack of
solid waste produced in the area. Emphasizes and discusses lack of management
municipal solid waste, and also giving possible alternatives for
appropriate to the public authorities will be taken efficiently. The methodology of
The research took place through a case study, where two different types of
questionnaires, one that was the basis for the community's socioeconomic survey and the other
addressing the treatment and final destination of solid waste, investigating the
residents' perception of the potential risks of improper disposal of solid waste.
In addition to organic waste and household waste, the vast majority of
industrialized products, potentially hazardous waste has been observed, such as
household pesticide and insecticide containers, batteries, light bulbs
fluorescent. It was found that the collection of rural waste in Sítio Boi Morto is not conducted
by the Cajazeiras City Government Public Managers, in addition to the need for review
specific laws for the solid waste issue, with due regard being given to the management of
solid waste in rural areas.
