Nanoscience is seen as a new science that allows numerous applications in nanotechnology, is a technology that has stood out a lot, is a new world for science, the nanometer world is an area that has contributed to the economic growth of various countries. Nanoscience and nanotechnology promises innovations at all. In this way nanoscience and nanotechnology can not fail to be included in basic education, it needs to be inserted in the curriculum of schools urgently. The aim of this work is to introduce the concept of nanoscience and nanotechnology in a high school, and present the various applications in nanotechnology that are obtained from the use of nanomaterials, highlighting the carbon allotropes that are the nanomaterials of interest in the our work, and allows numerous applications in nanotechnology. The work was developed at the state school Orlando Venâncio dos Santos, in Cuité-PB, through an elective course, the students were 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of high school. To achieve the goal proposed by us, we developed a sequence of studies, which was applied in the second half of 2018, the discipline nanoscience and nanotechnology lasted five months. The classes were distributed as follows: We began by discussing some topics of quantum physics that are essential for understanding the nanoscience theme, soon after we started the classes on nanoscience and nanotechnology, defining each of the two terms then exploring the study of carbon allotropes, which are: Graphene, carbon nanotubes and fullerene, which have many applications in nanotechnology, mainly in medicine, electronics, environment, pharmacy and cosmetics. The materials used in the classroom were handouts, films, documentaries, dynamics and slide presentations. To collect the results on the introduction of this topic in school, we used a questionnaire as an evaluation method, the answers presented by the students did not have many differences with the topic that was worked in the elective. From this research the students have a better understanding about the subject, they will have a new vision about the importance of science in society, and the need to be discussed in the school environment much more broadly.
