Resumo:
In this work we approach the history of Leonard Euler, because he was responsible for the emergence of graph theory when he solved the problem of the seven bridges starting the study of topology. It is important to emphasize that the concept of graph is modern and did not exist in the time of Euler. We will present some of the main concepts of graph theory. In addition, we will see an important mathematical theorem, often used in schools, which is very useful in discrete mathematics. This work is characterized as a bibliographical research whose objective is to prove Euler's theorem if using the graph theory. For this we will assume concepts of trees and related graphs and we will see some important corollaries. We will conclude that although the idea of a graph is not known, it is a very general and useful one, and can be used for a great deal of practical problems.
