Resumen:
The present work proposes to make a methodological discussion about the teaching of
geography in a public school, reflecting a little about the classes and the methodologies
applied at the time of execution. To achieve this goal we started with a
brief theoretical discussion about the trajectory of school geography in Brazil, seeking
rescue and reflect on how the stages of transformation took place. Then
I questioned the teaching of geography in the 21st century, where it was possible to discuss some
authors' considerations about the teaching problem, trying to establish
information consistent with teaching. Next, an analysis of
teacher education, the methodology applied in geography classes. For the acquisition of
The result of the present work was based on an empirical study conducted with the students
from the 9th and 3rd year EEEFM Elementary and High School ESTEVAM MARINHO,
located in the district of São Gonçalo. In the course of the study,
questionnaires for the students and teachers of this school space, through which the
author sought to discuss the teaching methodology geography learning
applied at that school.
