Abstract:
This thesis presents a contribution for the knowledge behavior of the flight auger piles executed on eight load tests Recife city. In addition, this thesis shows peculiarities of these piles execution and aims to analyze and discuss the behavior of these piles submitted to compression efforts through load tests and compared the results obtained by semi-empirical methods of Aoki-Velloso (1975), Decourt
(1996), Antunes and Cabral (1996) and Alonso (1996, 2000). Also the settlement results obtained by load tests are compared with those obtained by Poulos&Davis (1968). The evaluation of the load bearing capacity was determined using Van der Veen (1953) extrapolation method, when the results obtained did not represents the ultimate failure of the system soil-pile. The Decourt (1996) and Aonso (1996, 2000) methods represented better results when compared with the
values obtained by load tests on all the piles tested, when it was used the coefficient of minority a 0,63 and 1870 on the point resistance. The values for the minority coefficients a were obtained from those from load tests done in Recife-Pe.
