Resumen:
The care offered in the Intensive Care Unit is aggressive and complex, it aims to
restore the health of the patient hospitalize or can not be retrieved, reduce injury. When a
patient is admitted in this sector, there is a breakdown in the family imposed by the
circumstances of the hospitalized Family situation, which leads to the need for care and
nursing care for relatives with their loved one. The objective of the study is identify the host
of strategies between nurses and Family members. An integrative literature review was used
from the use of the descriptors in heath sciences “family”, “Intensive Care Unit”; “Relations
Professional-Family”; “Communication” and “Nursing Care” in VHL, that involving:
MEDLINE, LILACS and ND in SCIELO. From a refined search, through the research
objectives 9 articles. It was checked the Family face the hospital with feelings of pain, fear,
despair, anxiety and characterize this time as a difficult situation to be seen, especially when
nursing professionals not include in care. It was observed that among the items surveyed
indicated that the ICUs with welcoming strategies, the results were satisfactory for most
families, wiht inclusion reports and hosting by staff. It is recommended that professionals
suited the needs of Family members and patients and include the Family in care, creating
strategies and adapting routines in this sector, in order to meet everyone in the hospital and
provide quality care based on humanization.
