Abstract:
The practice of Psychiatric Nursing has historic features with the emergence of asylums to psychiatric hospitals. From the psychiatric reform, emerged the substitutive services is designed to assist the individual in its complexity, individually and collectively. In this sense, from the construction of a network of substitutive mental health care, the assignment of the nurse is to take new directions, different from the traditional practices of psychiatric hospitals. Thus, this study aimed to identify the importance of nursing care in psychiatric consultations in the semiarid region of Paraíba state. It is a field survey of descriptive character with quantiqualitativa approach. The study was composed of a population of 20 nurses and/or coordinators of the CAPS and the sample consisted of 15 nurses and/or coordinators of the caps of the city of Pompeii and Sousa in the semiarid region of Paraíba State, in which were present in your work environment on the day of completion of data collection. The data were analyzed through an approach quantiqualitativa. The results show that the professionals are predominantly female, with regard to age, prevailed in the age range between 31 to 40 years. As to income, prevailed the value greater than two minimum wages and the greater part of the subjects interviewed reported working in CAPS Ad. With respect to the data relevant to the study, evident to a great instability of professionals in the service and practice exacerbated of mechanistic actions on the part of nurses. Note also that, gradually the professionals have recognized the need to understand the patient as a being capable of individualities and that the main focus of care in mental health should be facing the psychosocial rehabilitation of patients, worrying increasingly in stimulating the patient's autonomy. From the data exposed realized that the family has recognized its role in relation to the monitoring of the bearer in mental suffering, in order to visit the service with a frequency satisfactory service in order to understand about the pathology in that the subject was affected and how to comply with the same in everyday life. From this perspective, it is necessary to the appreciation of the biopsychosocial influences, in order to stimulate the engagement of the bearer in society.
