Résumé:
The community health agent (CHA) develops practices that directly influence any aspect of the
community's quality of life, since the ACS occupies an essential place in the Health Team,
being responsible for guiding and promoting the health of the population on the various events
related to the well-being of its attached population. The study aimed to find out how the
educational acts occurred in the daily practices of the Community Health Agents in Primary
Care. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, carried out with 16 ACS of the
basic care of Cajazeiras-PB. The data collection was done through a semi-structured interview,
and for the organization of the data obtained in the interview, was turned to the methodological
process of the Discourse Analysis (AD) of Michel Pêcheux's French line, as a method of
analysis, for its subjective aspect of working not with the content of the text itself, but with the
senses produced by it. All the steps of the research faithfully followed Resolution 466/2012 of
the National Health Council. During the analysis of the speeches identified that the educational
acts developed by the ACS in their daily life are still based on the medical-biological health
model, demonstrating that the concept of health education defined by them is confusing and
linked to the prevention of diseases, other factors identified in the analysis were the difficulties
encountered in their daily lives to develop educational acts, since the management does not
have an effective participation to provide capacities and materials for the educational actions to
occur, the population also does not have a good adhesion to collective actions, in this way
contributing to the ACS to develop, in most cases, individual character actions at the time of
the visit. It was evidenced in the study that these existing factors limit the development of
educational acts, thus weakening the involvement of all in the construction of care and thus
failing to provide a quality service for the population. Finally, it is believed that this study
contributes to awakening new discourses and reflections among the various researchers, teams,
community and managers about the importance of valorization and recognition of the work of
these professionals for the strengthening of Primary Care.
