Abstract:
Introduction: The spiritual leader has the power to drive the individual to follow their own values, including exercising health practices in the community, in order to favor or harm the self-care actions. In this sense, the leader has the ability to use your life experience in order to accomplish the aim of the other, whose ideas have a universal appeal, that meet the needs of many. Objective: To conduct an integrative review of national literature elucidating the limits and possibilities of religion / spirituality in the face of health practices in the community. Method: integrative review of literature search for articles in the databases LILACS, SciELO, using the descriptors: Health and Faith and Leadership. Of the articles found, ten (10) were selected for the final analysis. Results: Most of the studies selected for this research are the LILACS database, developed in the Central-South region, with a qualitative approach, in article format, developed by teachers and doctors. Discussion: The study addressed the theme "limits and possibilities of religion / spirituality in the face of health practices in the community" emphasizing three (3) empirical categories: 1. The impact of religion on health and individual well-being; 2. The importance of social support in religious organizations for society; 3. Religion and spirituality as an alternative health practice. Concluding Remarks: The influence of religion and spirituality has shown potential impact on physical and mental health, fi if nindo as possible factor in preventing the development of disease in previously healthy population and possible reduction of death or impact of various diseases, the evidence They have been directed more robust and consistent manner to the scene of prevention.
