Resumen:
When the kidneys are committed and cannot perform its function and eliminate toxins, it’s characterized by renal failure. Kidney disease is considered a problem for public health due to the high morbidity and mortality rates with negative impact on quality of life. During therapy and the disease itself, there are losses and changes in the human body, such as immune deficiency, anemia, disorders in lipid metabolism, carbohydrate, protein and disorders of resulting toxins present in the blood. This study aimed to analyze the influence of alimentation in the usual symptoms of patients that perform hemodialysis. This was a study of the quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational designs. For analysis of the type of alimentation was used a questionnaire that evaluated the consumption of foods rich in nutrients improper for chronic kidney disease, the frequency of consumption of these aliments per day to end the recall twenty-four hours with six daily meals to obtain the BMI, weight pre - dialysis, height and Ktv was used information obtained from medical records of the patients. The results of this study indicate that the analyzed public is formed by the majority of older people, with nutritional diagnosis as eutrophic. Regarding the consumption of foods rich in potassium, phosphorus, sodium and some liquids, they showed consumption within the recommendations. As the symptoms can be seen that the alimentation both in quantity and in times daily, was not the main cause, as some patients who did not consume certain type of food also had the symptom, this is due to complications resulting from its own hemodialysis process, from this study can be concluded that proper nutrition therapy for patients on hemodialysis is very effective to prevent and minimize the presence of the common symptoms in these patients, but it is worth noting that this study showed that these symptoms not only depend on the food consumption as well as the effectiveness of the hemodialysis process, from the association of other pathologies to chronic kidney disease, medication use and symptoms arising from the hemodialysis.
