Résumé:
Increasing complexity in new database applications (CAD / CAM, multimedia office information systems, knowledge-based systems, CASE, etc.) requires greater care to maintain the integrity of the complex data structures to be manipulated. The object-oriented paradigm provides the concepts needed to approach these advanced applications in a more modular and secure way. The proposed Temporal Object Model (TOM) is an extension of the THM (Temporal - Hierarchic Data Model) semantic model with object - oriented features. The TOM model is described by means of a metaclass system, aiming at an open object oriented environment. Time concepts and object versioning are also features of the model.
