The use of medicinal plants is sometimes a natural therapeutic practices performed by different groups. The Community Health Agent (CHA) appears as an important player in health promotion and in the construction and production of care. Thus, this study aims to identify the medicinal plants used and disseminated by the Community Health Agents in the community where they work This is a quantitative research, exploratory, conducted between the months of November and December 2014 with the agents that work in the city of Cuite. The study followed the ethical guidelines and was approved by the Ethics Committee under report number XXXXXX. The data collection was based on a questionnaire and analysis of the data was through by the production of graphics and support to the literature. Thus, the agents sample was 32, which corresponds to 61.5%. Of these, 75% (24) using medicinal plants. The main reasons that lead to the use of plants are: flu, stomach problems and insomnia. The most used plants were the boldo, lemongrass and lemongrass, and the main form of use was the tea. Of the participants, 78.13% (25) suggested the use of medicinal plants in the community where they work. 99% (31) of the agents know the plants used by the community, however, 62.5% (20) do not know the toxic effects of plants. Only 50% (16) of the agents preferred to discuss with the team working on medicinal plants, while 81.25% have already participated in events on the subject.
