With the analysis of the responses were built four categories: Insufficient knowledge of nurses to assess wounds with use of instrumental; negative aspects to assess the chronic wounds; recommended treatment for chronic wounds; needs for training and capacity building. Final Considerations: Finished the study, it is relevant to highlight the importance of research involving professionals of Nursing and the subject assessment and treatment of wounds, because, now, it is possible to measure how rewarding the results were with a challenging analysis to present to the public; the need to continue seeking knowledge for all areas of health, highlighting the importance of the care process and heal wounds as responsabilities of nurses, because it was found a lack of knowledge regarding the evaluation and treatment of wounds. None of the nurses had expertise in caring for wounds and felt the need for courses on the subject and training.
