Abstract:
This work aims to understand the school curriculum in the understanding of educators in two elementary schools in the municipality of Sumé. This study involved eighteen graduated teachers and some of them are post graduated. The procedure for data collection was a questionnaire designed with open and closed questions.The approach rests on the curriculum and it questions teachers about these issues around it:how the work in the classroom is; how local issues are worked, research sources which support the work of the teacher, the construction of curriculum, teaching in the Cariri area of Paraiba and the content selection. The results indicate that the subject curriculum is hardly ever part of the pedagogical discussions of the schools involved in this research.The understanding of many part of the educators surveyed is that the curriculum are the actions undertaken in the school environment, although this understanding is more to curriculum as a syllabus.The study detects a gap between the Semiaridissue and the work these teachers in classroom.
