Resumen:
The present research project aims to understand what the social impacts of
implementation of the Center for the Development of Brazilian Semiarid, Federal
University of Campina Grande - UFCG, for the development of the Semi-arid
Paraiba. In particular the development of the city of Sume, by granting scholarships
for students at the campus Sume, especially for future teachers PIBID fellows, having
the same opportunity to learn practices of contextual teaching. The process of
investigation of the impacts mentioned above will be given through field research,
oral interviews, semi-structured qualitative and quantitative, information capture and
analysis of documents. We will seek to analyze how the importance of public policies
on higher education, particularly as regards the granting of scholarships by the
Center for Sustainable Development Semi-Arid to intellectual development, social
and cultural development of students Scholars PIBID the CDSA, which is a program
for the training of teachers. On that occasion we will seek to realize how important
the implementation of the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, as an
institution capable or not of changing social realities and promote sustainable
development in semi-arid.
