Violence against women is presented in a ubiquitous manner and its significant increase to become a health problem, since it affects thousands of women around the world regardless of age, social class, education level, ethnicity, race and religion. To occur in most cases between couples who maintains a close relationship, is set to gender violence, for man exerts a domain action on women, arising from the relationship of power and values assigned to both unevenly. Thus the relationship of conflict between them, has been characterized as a determining factor in the health disease, influencing the way of life, illness and death of these women, resulting in not only the physical marks expressed in the body, but negative consequences affect the psychological and the social. Given this condition is necessary to know the stories of these, so as to find out how such violence affects your life, favoring their health status or disease. So this study aims: to reveal the physical, mental and / or psychological impact that violence has brought the lives of these women; identify the coping strategies used by them before the violence suffered. For data collection was used to search the exploratory and descriptive under the gaze of a qualitative approach. The empirical data collection technique was based on the oral history of life, respected by Meihy and Ribeiro (2011). The research took place in the city of Stone Drafted PB, with the subject of analysis women who suffered and still suffer domestic violence. The material was collected in the residence environment of the researcher and the residence of only one of the interviewees, during the months of May to June 2015. The analysis of the empirical material occurred from the completion of the phases that make up the Oral History and Meihye Ribeiro (2011), and was guided by the vital tone of the stories of each contributor, following the increasing discussion based on literature theme. Analysis of the material identified the impact that violence causes in the lives of these women and found ways for them to overcome the violent cycle Subsidies found, analyzing the stories initially were divided into four categories: Violence and the invasion of the body; Sadness, fear and depression x violence; Disappointment; Decision and attitude. The data showed that violence against women causes damages that go beyond physical trauma, it affects your body, psychological and emotional integrity. A reflective look able to contribute to the understanding of this issue is a key factor for prevention and care policies to be launched for these women.
