This academic work is a survey of the eight years of government of Luiz Inácio Lula da
Silva (2003-2010), regarded as a popular president seen from the perspective of critical
and humorous cartoons Angeli Folha de S. Paulo. The published political cartoons in
newspapers around the world, end up being a different way to deliver news, are means
to make good humor and satire are present in these media, aiming to facilitate the
information in a critical way, but without lose a good mood. By use of skits and
exaggeration in their traits they can easy interpretation and a good acceptance with the
see. It aims to show that newspaper vision with respect to this government, which also
show the most discussed aspects of these cartoons, and how they were portrayed by
cartoonist. also seeks to show the importance of political cartoons in the media and how
this art can serve as an instrument of public awareness.
