The use of music in the teaching of history is a growing reality and
imposing in Brazilian schools. The objective of this research is to problematize until
At what point is music, specifically the MPB music genre, treated as
historical document and as a didactic resource. The focus will be on analyzing the role
played by MPB in the Teaching of History, about the period of the Military Dictatorship
Brazil, having as its primary source of research the textbooks adopted in the
Monsenhor Morais State School of Elementary and Secondary Education
of Bonito from Santa Fe - PB. It will analyze how the songs in focus are inserted
in the content studied about the Military Dictatorship in Brazil, both in the body of the texts,
as in the proposed exercises. The research is bibliographic in nature and
primary sources of textbooks. In this sense, the analysis
will be carried out using the textbooks adopted by the referred school in the last
eight years, bibliographical references on the theme and legislation for education
in Brazil (PCN´s and LDB). In methodological terms the resources of
analysis and comparison.
