Résumé:
The urban Planning is presented as a broad element, which is a method that can be
continuously applied with the aim to resolve issues that affects specific areas of society and it
can provide solution to future issues. The objectives of this research are to analyse the urban
plannning and population growth of Cajazeiras - PB city from 1980 until present day, verify
the town’s infrastructure, identify the urban population growth and characterize its
development and how it has reflected in the area and quality of life of its inhabitants. The
methods utilised were field research, documentation and observation. The research took place
at Cajazeiras –PB urban planning department, during the months of July to November 2015
and after the collation process, the data collected was contrasted with the relevant literature
that relates to the subject in question. The results demonstrated that from 1980 until nowadays
there was a considerable population growth and the urban planning has provided a better
quality of life for its inhabitants, for instance when the urban infrastuture is applied it will be
favourable to the development of the city which will be refelcted in the goods and services
offered. Therefore, the urban planning is fundamental for the suitable development of the city
in order to provide quality of life for its inhabitants.
