Relações de gênero em O Grande Gatsby.

Abstract

This research‟s corpus is the masterpiece of the American novelist Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (1925). Its main objective is to describe and analyze the gender relations in narrative, from a feminist perspective. So, it will use the theoretical concepts of Zolin (2005), Moreira (1993), among others. It will also be described aspects of changes and transitions that the United States passed at the time of the plot and that are represented in Fitzgerald‟s novel. Some of them are: the emergence of The Jazz Age, the Post First War prosperity, the American prohibition law, women‟s condition in the XX century America and how they are represented in the narrative. It will be analyzed the gender relations, highlighting as both men and women are portrayed.
