The first two years of a child's life are characterized by accelerated growth and development, which leads to increased nutritional requirements at this stage. Exclusive breastfeeding up to six months and the proper and careful introduction of complementary feed can prevent nutritional deficiencies and contribute to a good development and growth of children. Currently, many parents choose to offer their children processed infant foods guiding to the labels, however, most of the population does not have access to these products, leaving the "homemade baby food", as the main option of choice for the introduction of complementary feed. Thus, this study aimed to develop and label in homemade baby food meant to complement feeding of infants 6 months of life in breastfeeding. For this, were made 4 (four) baby food, whereas, two baby food were first stage and the other two of the second phase, which were subjected to physical and chemical analysis. From the physical and chemical analysis, was prepared 01 (one) nutritional label for each baby food obtained. It was found that the prepared baby food homemade are suitable for protein content, although they have not reached all the recommendations of the Institute of Medicine. However, when compared the marks of processed baby foods they proved to be most nutritionally appropriate and still showed the differential of does not have sodium in its composition. Therefore, homemade baby food is nutritionally adequate, provided that they are composed of food, that when combined, can offer high availability of nutrients. Thus, it is essential that families are oriented to prefer preparations using fresh food, thus adopting healthy eating habits from childhood.
