Parents are considered the relevant social structure for the education of their children in
growth and development, especially with regard to sexuality, which plays an important role in
sexual education during adolescence. This study aims to summarize the studies published in
journals of Nursing, between the years 2004 to 2014, seeking evidence on how parents of
teenagers promote sexual educations with their children. We selected 09 articles in the
literature in LILACS and BDENF database, and electronic library SCIELO then performed
their reading and data collection. These articles were selected according to the inclusion and
exclusion criteria. Studies show that the parents when with their adolescent children are taken
by doubts, anxieties, anxieties, expectations, mainly related to sexuality. In this process, often,
they feel unable to guide, help your children will face this new experience and educate them
to their sexuality with pleasure and responsibility. We can see the need for parents to create
and expand strategies with adequate improvement in training in addresses knowledge,
increasingly relevant skills and competencies on adolescence and sexuality.
