Resumen:
Linguistics plays an important role when it comes to the various language expressions, considering the whole process of communication, including oral manifestation. As part of linguistics, we find the Sociolinguistics, which studies the language taking into consideration social, cultural and historical elements, as well as the context where the communication situation happens. The choice of this theme was because we consider extremely significant the knowledge of the different linguistic expressions present in society. We seek, through this research, observe how the phenomenon of linguistic variation is treated in Jornadas.port collection, presenting the concept of change and observe the approach to linguistic variation in the didactic manual of the 7th year of elementary school, appointed by the Didactic Book National Program (PNLD). This is a qualitative descriptive research through a literature review of how to develop the mother tongue teaching. To support this research, we rely on the studies of Bagno (1991) (1999) (2007), Coutinho (2011), Delmanto & Dileta (2012), Fiorin (2003), Freitag (1997), Gurpilhares (2004), Martelotta (2013), Orlandi (1942), PCN (1998), PNLD (2008), among others, to discuss converging practices with the reality of students who are included in the teaching-learning process in order to ensure an evolutionary practice in the formation of our citizens when it comes to mother tongue teaching.
