Resumo:
This work is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter we analyze the Didactic
Book showing how the didactic authors list the process of word formation by the
historical perspective of the origin of the Portuguese language. In the second chapter
we present the historical course of the Portuguese language, since its emergence in
the Iberian Peninsula, with the emergence of classical Latin to modern Portuguese.
And, in the third chapte r we bring a survey about the formation of the lexicon of
Vulgar Latin to Brazilian Portuguese. In this way, we have as general objective to
analyze, how the textbook addresses the process of word formation, in the historical
perspective of the Portuguese language in the textbook of the sixth year of
elementary school II.For the accomplishment of the work, a qualitative bibliographical
research was carried out, based on the theoretical discussions that already exist, on
the reflections of the origin and the evolution of the history of the Portuguese
language, as well as the process of word formation of the Brazilian lexicon, with the
intention of deepening the theme in question.While, theoretical contribution we use:
Assis (s / d) Ilari (1999), Cherry and Co char (2015), Othero (2003), Teyssier
(2001).With the analysis of the didactic book it was concluded that the study of the
formation of the Portuguese lexicon in the school is still very deficient, in other words,
the didactic authors Cereja and Cochar brin g in a very succinct way the historical
aspects of the Portuguese Language.
