In this work was studied the chemical composition of the fixed oils extracted from seeds of pumpkin, jackfruit, watermelon, calabash and calabash bark by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. The oils were extracted from the seeds and calabash bark in a Soxhlet extractor using hexane as solvent, the obtained material was submited to a methylation reaction and the major constituents were subsequently identified by CG/EM. The majority-identified constituents were the methyl esters of palmitic, stearic and oleic acids and others individually identified for each species. The analyzes indicated the presence of some constituents that are already used in the food industry, being the oils and meals obtained in this study, a source of compounds with biological or pharmacological activity useful for human consumption or for use in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food, reducing the amount of waste that is produced in fruit processing industries.
