Resumo:
Globalization and the technological revolution have caused great changes in society. With the
constant use of new technologies, it is important that the school accompanies these
transformations, using the technological tools as allies for the acquisition of a foreign
language. Although it is still a challenge to include the use of new technologies in the
educational context, it is necessary to recognize the influence they currently have on young
people. From this perspective, the objective of this research is to analyze the insertion of the
new technologies in the teaching / learning process of the English Language, having as object
of study the textual genre blog for the development of reading ability. Thus, this is a research
of bibliographic character, having as theoretical support, Brown (2007), Marcuschi (2011),
Komesu (2001), among others. Finally, searching for innovations in the teaching / learning
process of English language, this study shows through suggestions of activity how the
technological resources can contribute to the literacy and autonomy of the student.
