Resumo:
From this perspective, our research work aims at a better understanding of the
learning process; reading and writing, having as its main goal investigate and
analyze the level of reading and writing of students from 1st to 5th year of elementary
school of the Unidade de Ensino do município de Sumé/PB located in Sítio
Pitombeira, at the city of Sumé-PB. The evaluations were conducted in two stages.
The study was realized from a qualitative research, seeking detailed understanding
of the meanings and situational characteristics presented by the object of research in
question. The methodology used involves a pre-syllabic analysis, syllabic sound
worthless, with syllabic sound value, syllabic-alphabetic and alphabetic. At first in the
research we worked with an informative text, entitled O HOMEM DO CAMPO, in our
second meeting we worked with the text A SECA E O INVERNO, in an attempt to
analyze the level of reading and writing of the multi-series class. As the class
involves different levels of schooling, texts were worked departing from a dictation
organized as follows: for the 1st and 2nd year of elementary school, we suggested a
list of simple words taken from the text; for the classes of 3th and 4th year, a list of
more complex words; for the classes of 5th year it was pronounced in loud and clear
the first and second paragraphs of the text in question, so that they could write it their
way. The reached results were: from the 11 (eleven) students who took part in the
research, 06 (six) are in the pre-syllabic phase; 06 (six) in the syllabic phase; 07
(seven) in the syllabic-alphabetic phase and 03 (three) students are literate.
