Resumo:
The refrigerant is one of the most consumed beverage worldwide and is common since the mid-nineteenth century, in which were found in pharmacies as carbonated syrup. Can be set to not drink alcoholic, unfermented, produced with water, sugar, natural juice or vegetable extract, dye, acidulant, antioxidant, flavoring, preservative and carbon dioxide. The acidulants are used with the function of regulating the sweetness of sugar, enhance flavor and lower the pH of the beverage by inhibiting the proliferation of microorganisms. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the concentration of phosphoric acid present in soft drinks colas by potentiometric titration, since there are studies that indicate a correlation between consumption of cola and low bone density and severe damage to teeth . This titration is to monitor the various stages and determine the end point of a titration process through the measurement of pH. With the results we build graphs and determine the concentration of the acid indicating that all samples were within the limits of acceptability according to ANVISA RDC law No. 05 of January 15, 2007 and can not get an certainly the correlation between soda consumption with low bone density and damage to teeth, in addition to the tests prove uniformity among its manufacturing batches, which qualify them as products suitable for consumption.
