Abstract:
Selection is the process of choice of drug, based on epidemiological, technical and also economic criteria, to ensure access to safe, effective and the most cost-effective. The study was characterized as analytical and interventional, aiming to qualify the list of drugs used in the city of Lavras da Mangabeira/CE. After considering the criteria for selection of drugs, we started the process of inclusion / exclusion / replacement, using the following parameters: epidemiological relevance, impact on municipal health relevance to the service and the possibility of intervention. Among 333 items evaluated, additions were made (10), exclusions (145) and replacements (11) to the existing list, justified by the extent and availability of various drugs with similar indications. The process of updating the municipal list of Lavras da Mangabeira provide a significant improvement to the municipal health system, and this will allow a more rational and equal access to the local population.
